Tokaroa North Island Cup 2

I flew up to Rotorua the day before the race and managed to get a chance to ride the track in Tokaroa. The track was a fast track with no real hard climbs. On the day of the race the temp was very hot and made it hard conditions to race in. I got a good start and was sitting behind elite rider Mike Northcott on his home track. We got a bit of a lead and then in 3rd lap I decided that I wouldn't be able to stay with him for the whole race. I was by myself for the 3rd lap racing with nobody until I turned around at the end of that lap to see Sam Shaw sitting on my wheel. I stuck with him for the rest of the race until the last couple of minutes where he attacked and I had nothing left in the tank to follow him. It was a good race as I got quite a bit out of the 1st couple of laps and now can start planning my race for Rotorua in 2 weeks time.
